What is Essential Primary Plus?
A short term insurance policy which provides DAY-TO-DAY and EMERGENCY & ACCIDENTAL cover, that will not only fit but benefit you, your family and your lifestyle.

DAY-TO-DAY BENEFITS which can be taken as a stand-alone benefit option, are provided by Unity Health’s network of service providers consisting of approximately 1 800 doctors, 2 274 dentists, 2 582 optometrists as well as various pharmacies, pathologists and radiologists.

  • BASIC MEDICAL PROCEDURES
  • ACUTE MEDICATION
  • CHRONIC MEDICATION
  • BASIC BLOOD TESTS & X-RAYS
  • BASIC & EMERGENCY DENTISTRY
  • ACCIDENTAL DENTISTRY
  • BASIC EYE CARE
  • MATERNITY CARE

EMERGENCY & ACCIDENTAL BENEFITS which can be taken as a stand-alone benefit option, are provided by your nearest, registered private hospital and the hospital’s casualty facility. When you are admitted into a private facility for a planned medical procedure, cover is not applicable.

Cover includes:
  • OVERALL POLICY LIMIT (OPL) R 1 000 000 per policy per year.
  • HOSPITALISATION DUE TO AN EMERGENCY @ nearest private hospital

ESSENTIAL WELLNESS BENEFITS provide access to a wellness assessment and a telephonic assistance programme consisting of counselling and advisory services that are automatically included when you join eithr the DAY-TO-DAY-, or DAY-TO-DAY AND EMERGENCY & ACCIDENTAL BENEFITS health insurance option.

Stand-alone EMERGENCY & ACCIDENTAL BENEFITS health insurance option includes access to only the ESSENTIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME (EAP) when sound advice is needed most.

You, your spouse and any child dependant of whom you are the parent or legal guardian.

What is StaffCare?
StaffCare is the combined package for employers for both OCSACare and Health4Me.

OCSACare offers premium, private, day-to-day healthcare through the private medical practitioners of the CareCross Health Group who is a national network of GP’s, Radiologists, Pathologists, Dentists and Optometrists and collectively embrace the concept of affordable healthcare.  Keeping the South African workforce healthy on a day-to-day basis, will in return lead to dramatically declining absenteeism percentages and thus contribute to the bottom line of the employer.

OCSACare is not a medical aid; it is for employers that wish to cover the day to day medical needs of their employees. Individuals cannot join directly.

Health4Me Health Insurance offers cover to employer groups who wish to provide healthcare cover either for their employees or for their employees and their dependants. Staff can add dependents and can have cover for majoe medical events.
